But today… let’s take a moment for the bus drivers! You can see Teacher Appreciation free printables that I’ve featured in past years on my Freebies page, and I’ll feature more on Freebie Friday. If you don’t have it on the calendar, Teacher Appreciation Week 2014 is May 5 – 9. Be sure to check her out at Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams on Etsy. I love her yarn pom garlands and party hats. Keisha is not only a talented printables designer: she also offers hand-crafted decorative party elements in her shop. So I’m turning to I Heart Nap Time’s recipe.Īnnnnnd - just for you and me - my fab sponsor Cupcake Wishes and Birthday Dreams has created Bus Driver Thank You Tags for Teacher Appreciation Week!! Thank you, Keisha! But, Lemon Jell-o Cookies might be manageable. Well, I’m thinking that pie would be a pain for him to handle on the bus all day. “Lemon meringue pie is my favorite,” said Kevin. So on Pi Day, when Baby A took a lemon meringue pie to school, Coach Kevin’s eyes got very big. We sent him a gift card, but he deserved a medal. Until we could figure out where the bus was, and until my husband could hike through the snow and ice to the bus, Kevin took care of scared, cold, hungry kids (who had to pee) for all that time. Coach Kevin kept our kids safe during a marathon 3.5 hour bus “ride” during which they were stuck in Atlanta’s Snowmaggedon. It was so cute to hear them all honk their horns and say “THANK YOU!” over their loud speakers. This crazy winter, it became crystal clear that our bus driver needed some special attention during Teacher Appreciation Week. “Thanks for going the extra mile!”Īs the busses left the school, we took down the signs and our kids joined us in cheering them on their merry way. Speaking of which, each of our guests of honor received a $15 Target gift card and a pack of Extra gum. The budget was small and we were able to use the bulk of it to go towards thank you gifts. The decor came from our homes and the paper products from the Dollar Store. It was such a great help and a nice way to save time and money year over year. The committee head last year laminated all of her signs and passed them along to me. We had all sorts of bottled waters, soft drinks and still drinks to choose from. The mom of a student did these darling cookies for our event. We added bagged chips, fresh fruit and the cutest cookies! We also sat out bags for anyone that wanted to take their snacks to enjoy later. We set up a simple lunch table near the bus circle with a variety of food, snacks and drinks.Īfter pricing options at Chick fil A, we went with just sandwiches in lieu of their box meal options. The guests included all of the bus drivers and crossing guards. We handed out invitations on Monday asking them to join us on Friday. We each sign up to head one event (bus drivers, janitors, cafe, etc.) and mine was to co-lead Bus Driver Day! Last week my PTA Hospitality Committee celebrated and thanked our elementary school bus drivers with a lunch before they headed on their afternoon routes.
